²⁷ After him, the Tekoites fortified another portion in front of the great tower that lies out to the wall of the fortress.

²⁸ The priests fortified from beyond the Horse Gate, each one in front of his house.

²⁹ After them, Zadok, the son of Immer, fortified in front of his house. And after him, Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, fortified.
