¹⁰ Then ^(A)Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite ^[a]official heard about it, and it was a very great evil to them that someone had come to seek the good of the sons of Israel.

¹⁹ But Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite ^[a]official and ^(A)Geshem the Arab heard it. And ^(B)they mocked us and despised us and said, “What is this thing you are doing? ^(C)Are you rebelling against the king?”

^7 [a]Now it happened that when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the ^[b]repair of the walls of Jerusalem went on, and that the places broken down began to be closed, they were very angry.

¹⁴ and said to him, “Do you indeed know that Baalis the king of the sons of ^(A)Ammon has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to strike down your life?” But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam did not believe them.
