Nehemiah 1:5-7
New International Version
5 Then I said:
“Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God,(A) who keeps his covenant of love(B) with those who love him and keep his commandments, 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear(C) the prayer(D) your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess(E) the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly(F) toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.
Nehemiah 9:2-3
New International Version
2 Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners.(A) They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the sins of their ancestors.(B) 3 They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the Lord their God.
