Rebuilding the Wall

3 Then ^(A)Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests ^(B)and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors. They built ^(C)as far as the Tower of ^[a]the Hundred, and consecrated it, then as far as the Tower of ^(D)Hananel.

¹⁶ Then the people went out and brought them and made themselves booths, each one on the ^(A)roof of his house, or in their courtyards or the courts of the house of God, and in the open square of the ^(B)Water Gate ^(C)and in the open square of the Gate of Ephraim.

⁶ Moreover Jehoiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah repaired ^(A)the Old Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors, with its bolts and bars.

³ Also the sons of Hassenaah built ^(A)the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and ^(B)hung its doors with its bolts and bars.

²⁵ Palal the son of Uzai made repairs opposite the ^[a]buttress, and on the tower which projects from the king’s upper house that was by the ^(A)court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh made repairs.

¹³ Then Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash, the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh; and he went to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from ^(A)the Gate of Ephraim to ^(B)the Corner Gate—^[a]four hundred cubits.

² Now there is in Jerusalem ^(A)by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, ^[a]Bethesda, having five porches.
