Nahum 1:2-7

New International Version

² The Lord is a jealous^(A) and avenging God;
    the Lord takes vengeance^(B) and is filled with wrath.
The Lord takes vengeance on his foes
    and vents his wrath against his enemies.^(C)
3 The Lord is slow to anger^(D) but great in power;
    the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.^(E)
His way is in the whirlwind^(F) and the storm,^(G)
    and clouds^(H) are the dust of his feet.
⁴ He rebukes^(I) the sea and dries it up;^(J)
    he makes all the rivers run dry.
Bashan and Carmel^(K) wither
    and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.
⁵ The mountains quake^(L) before him
    and the hills melt away.^(M)
The earth trembles^(N) at his presence,
    the world and all who live in it.^(O)
6 Who can withstand^(P) his indignation?
    Who can endure^(Q) his fierce anger?^(R)
His wrath is poured out like fire;^(S)
    the rocks are shattered^(T) before him.
