3 And I said, Hear, O Rashei Ya’akov, and ye Ketzinim of Bais Yisroel. Is it not for you to have da’as of Mishpat (Justice)?
2 Who hate the tov, and love the rah; who tear off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their atzamot (bones);
3 Who also eat the flesh of Ami, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their atzamot, and chop them in pieces, like for the pot, and like the basar within the caldron.
4 Then shall they cry unto Hashem, but He will not hear them; He will even hide His face from them at that time, because of the evil way they behaved themselves in their doings.
5 Thus saith Hashem concerning the nevi’im that make Ami err, leading them astray, the nevi’im that bite with their teeth, and preach, Shalom! And whoever putteth nothing into their mouths, v’kiddeshu milchamah (they sanctify war) against him.
6 Therefore lailah shall be unto you, because of the chazon; and choshech shall come upon you because of the soothsaying, the divination; and the shemesh shall go down over the nevi’im, and hayom shall be dark over them.
7 Then shall the chozim (seers) be ashamed, and the kosemim (diviners) blush in bushah; yea, they shall all cover their safam (mustache, i.e., their lips); ki ein ma’aneh Elohim (for there is no answer of G-d).
8 But truly I am full of ko’ach by the Ruach [Hakodesh] of Hashem, and of mishpat, and of gevurah (might), to preach unto Ya’akov his peysha, and to Yisroel his chattat. [Yeshayah 53:5,8,12]
9 Hear this, I pray you, ye Rashei Bais Ya’akov, and Ketzinim of Bais Yisroel, that abhor mishpat, and twist kol haYesharah (all the right, the straight).
10 Boneh Tziyon b’damim (they build up Tziyon with blood), and Yerushalayim with avlah (iniquity).
11 Her Rashim judge for a bribe, and her kohanim play the hireling moreh (teacher), and her nevi’im are fortunetellers for kesef; yet will they lean upon Hashem? And say, Is not Hashem among us? No ra’ah will come upon us.
12 Therefore because of you, Tziyon shall be plowed as a sadeh, and Yerushalayim shall become a rubble heap, and the Har HaBeis (HaMikdash, i.e., the Temple Mount) shall become a mound of scrubs. [T.N. fulfilled 586, B.C.E., 70 C.E.]

Pokvareni vođe naroda
3 Tada sam rekao:
»Slušajte, vođe naroda Jakovljevog,
glavari naroda Izraelovog.
Trebali ste znati što je ispravno.
2 A vi mrzite dobro i volite zlo.
Mom narodu derete kožu
i trgate mu meso s kostiju.
3 Jedete meso mojih ljudi,
gulite im kožu i drobite kosti.
Siječete ih kao meso,
koje se stavlja u kotao.«
4 Zato, kad zavape Bogu,
on im neće odgovoriti.
Sakrit će svoje lice od njih
zbog zlih djela koja su učinili.
Lažni proroci
5 BOG govori o prorocima koji moj narod vode krivim putem. Oni obećavaju mir onima koji ih hrane, a onima koji ih ne hrane, objavljuju rat.
6 »Zato noću nećete imati viđenja.
Obavit će vas tama
i nećete moći proricati.
Zaći će sunce tim prorocima
i dan će im se smračiti.
7 Osramotit će se vidioci
i obrukati gataoci.
Svi će šuteći pokriti usta
jer im Bog neće odgovoriti.«
8 A mene je BOŽJI Duh ispunio
silom, pravdom i moći,
da Jakovu kažem za njegove zločine
i Izraelu za njegove grijehe.
Pokvareni vođe
9 Poslušajte, vođe naroda Jakovljevog,
glavari naroda Izraelovog.
Vi mrzite ono što je pravedno
i iskrivljujete sve što je ispravno.
10 Sion gradite prolivenom krvlju
i Jeruzalem nepravednošću.
11 Njihovi vođe primaju mito
da bi donosili presude.
Svećenici za plaću poučavaju,
a proroci za novac prorokuju.
I još se na BOGA oslanjaju i govore:
»BOG je sigurno s nama.
Ništa loše neće nam se dogoditi.«
12 Zato će zbog vas, vođe,
Sion biti preoran kao polje.
Jeruzalem će postati gomila krša,
a brdo na kojem stoji Hram,
obrast će visoka šikara.

2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
4 Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
5 Thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.
10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us.
12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

Leaders and Prophets Rebuked
3 Then I said,
“Listen, you leaders(A) of Jacob,
you rulers of Israel.
Should you not embrace justice,
2 you who hate good and love evil;
who tear the skin from my people
and the flesh from their bones;(B)
3 who eat my people’s flesh,(C)
strip off their skin
and break their bones in pieces;(D)
who chop(E) them up like meat for the pan,
like flesh for the pot?(F)”
4 Then they will cry out to the Lord,
but he will not answer them.(G)
At that time he will hide his face(H) from them
because of the evil they have done.(I)
5 This is what the Lord says:
“As for the prophets
who lead my people astray,(J)
they proclaim ‘peace’(K)
if they have something to eat,
but prepare to wage war against anyone
who refuses to feed them.
6 Therefore night will come over you, without visions,
and darkness, without divination.(L)
The sun will set for the prophets,(M)
and the day will go dark for them.(N)
7 The seers will be ashamed(O)
and the diviners disgraced.(P)
They will all cover(Q) their faces(R)
because there is no answer from God.(S)”
8 But as for me, I am filled with power,
with the Spirit of the Lord,
and with justice and might,
to declare to Jacob his transgression,
to Israel his sin.(T)
9 Hear this, you leaders of Jacob,
you rulers of Israel,
who despise justice
and distort all that is right;(U)
10 who build(V) Zion with bloodshed,(W)
and Jerusalem with wickedness.(X)
11 Her leaders judge for a bribe,(Y)
her priests teach for a price,(Z)
and her prophets tell fortunes for money.(AA)
Yet they look(AB) for the Lord’s support and say,
“Is not the Lord among us?
No disaster will come upon us.”(AC)
12 Therefore because of you,
Zion will be plowed like a field,
Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble,(AD)
the temple(AE) hill a mound overgrown with thickets.(AF)
