II. PROMESSE A SION
Il regno futuro del Signore a Sion
4 Alla fine dei giorni
il monte del tempio del Signore
resterà saldo sulla cima dei monti
e s'innalzerà sopra i colli
e affluiranno ad esso i popoli;
2 verranno molte genti e diranno:
«Venite, saliamo al monte del Signore
e al tempio del Dio di Giacobbe;
egli ci indicherà le sue vie
e noi cammineremo sui suoi sentieri»,
poichè da Sion uscirà la legge
e da Gerusalemme la parola del Signore.
3 Egli sarà arbitro tra molti popoli
e pronunzierà sentenza fra numerose nazioni;
dalle loro spade forgeranno vomeri,
dalle loro lame, falci.
Nessuna nazione alzerà la spada contro un'altra nazione
e non impareranno più l'arte della guerra.
4 Siederanno ognuno tranquillo sotto la vite
e sotto il fico
e più nessuno li spaventerà,
poichè la bocca del Signore degli eserciti ha parlato!
5 Tutti gli altri popoli
camminino pure ognuno nel nome del suo dio,
noi cammineremo nel nome del Signore Dio nostro,
in eterno, sempre.
Il raduno a Sion del gregge disperso
6 «In quel giorno - dice il Signore -
radunerò gli zoppi,
raccoglierò gli sbandati
e coloro che ho trattato duramente.
7 Degli zoppi io farò un resto,
degli sbandati una nazione forte.
E il Signore regnerà su di loro
sul monte Sion,
da allora e per sempre.
8 E a te, Torre del gregge,
colle della figlia di Sion, a te verrà,
ritornerà a te la sovranità di prima,
il regno della figlia di Gerusalemme».
Assedio, esilio e liberazione a Sion
9 Ora perché gridi così forte?
Non c'è forse nelle tue mura alcun re?
I tuoi consiglieri sono forse periti,
perchè ti prendono i dolori come di partoriente?
10 Spasima e gemi, figlia di Sion, come una partoriente,
perchè presto uscirai dalla città
e dimorerai per la campagna
e andrai fino a Babilonia.
Là sarai liberata,
là il Signore ti riscatterà
dalla mano dei tuoi nemici.
Le nazioni stritolate sull'aia
11 Ora si sono adunate contro di te
molte nazioni
che dicono: «Sia profanata
e godano i nostri occhi
alla vista di Sion».
12 Ma esse non conoscono
i pensieri del Signore
e non comprendono il suo consiglio,
poichè le ha radunate
come covoni sull'aia.
13 Alzati e trebbia, figlia di Sion,
perchè renderò di ferro il tuo corno
e di bronzo le tue unghie
e tu stritolerai molti popoli:
consacrerai al Signore i loro guadagni
e le loro ricchezze al padrone di tutta la terra.

14 Ora fatti incisioni, o figlia dell'orda,
han posto l'assedio intorno a noi,
con la verga percuotono sulla guancia
il giudice d'Israele.

Božja vladavina
(Iz 2,2-4)
4 U budućnosti, planina BOŽJEGA Hrama
bit će postavljena kao najviša,
iznad svih brda uzvišena.
K njoj će se slijevati rijeke ljudi.
2 Mnogi će narodi doći i reći:
»Hajde, popnimo se na BOŽJU planinu,
do Hrama Jakovljevog Boga.
On će nas naučiti kako da živimo,
da njegovim stazama hodamo.«
Sa Siona će se proširiti BOŽJA nauka,
njegova riječ doći će iz Jeruzalema.
3 On će suditi među mnogim narodima.
Završit će sporove dalekih, moćnih nacija.
Oni će mačeve prekovati u plugove
i od koplja napraviti srpove.
Narodi više neće ratove započinjati,
niti će se više za borbe pripremati.
4 Svatko će živjeti u miru i blagostanju[a],
među svojim vinogradima i smokvama.
I nitko ih neće ugrožavati
jer je tako rekao BOG Svevladar.
5 Svi narodi slijede svoje bogove,
a mi ćemo slijediti našeg BOGA,
uvijek i zauvijek.
Božji planovi
6 »U to vrijeme«, kaže BOG,
»okupit ću hrome i prognane,
i one kojima sam donio nesreću.
7 Od hromih ću sabrati preostali narod,
od protjeranih učiniti moćnu naciju.
Od toga dana pa zauvijek,
BOG će biti njihov kralj
i vladati na brdu Sion.
8 A ti, kulo za promatranje stada,
utvrdo sionska,
tebi će biti vraćena prijašnja vlast,
kraljevstvo će opet biti u Jeruzalemu.«
Stanovništvo Jeruzalema odlazi u Babilon
9 A zašto sad zapomažeš na sav glas?
Nema li tvoga kralja?
Nema li tvojih savjetnika,
pa patiš kao rodilja u bolovima?
10 Stanovnici Jeruzalema[b], previjajte se od boli
i vrištite kao žena u trudovima!
Jer, sada morate napustiti grad
i živjeti na otvorenim poljima.
Odvest će vas u Babilon,
ali otamo ćete biti izbavljeni.
BOG će vas spasiti
iz ruku vaših neprijatelja.
Bog će uništiti druge narode
11 A sad su se mnogi narodi
protiv tebe okupili.
Govore: »Na silu ćemo ga oskvrnuti.
Oči ćemo padom Siona naslađivati.«
12 Ali oni ne znaju BOŽJE misli,
niti razumiju njegove planove.
On je skupio narode kao snopove
da ih na gumnu[c] mlate.
13 »Ustanite i mlatite ih, ljudi Jeruzalema.
Učinit ću vas jakima poput bika,[d]
koji ima željezne rogove i brončana kopita,
pa ćete zgaziti mnoge narode.
Njihov plijen posvetit ćete BOGU,
njihovo bogatstvo dat ćete
Gospodaru cijele zemlje.«

The Mountain of the Lord(A)
4 In the last days
the mountain(B) of the Lord’s temple will be established
as the highest of the mountains;
it will be exalted above the hills,(C)
and peoples will stream to it.(D)
2 Many nations will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,(E)
to the temple of the God of Jacob.(F)
He will teach us(G) his ways,(H)
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law(I) will go out from Zion,
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
3 He will judge between many peoples
and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide.(J)
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.(K)
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war(L) anymore.(M)
4 Everyone will sit under their own vine
and under their own fig tree,(N)
and no one will make them afraid,(O)
for the Lord Almighty has spoken.(P)
5 All the nations may walk
in the name of their gods,(Q)
but we will walk in the name of the Lord
our God for ever and ever.(R)
The Lord’s Plan
6 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
“I will gather the lame;(S)
I will assemble the exiles(T)
and those I have brought to grief.(U)
7 I will make the lame my remnant,(V)
those driven away a strong nation.(W)
The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion(X)
from that day and forever.(Y)
8 As for you, watchtower of the flock,
stronghold[a] of Daughter Zion,
the former dominion will be restored(Z) to you;
kingship will come to Daughter Jerusalem.(AA)”
9 Why do you now cry aloud—
have you no king[b](AB)?
Has your ruler[c] perished,
that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor?(AC)
10 Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion,
like a woman in labor,
for now you must leave the city
to camp in the open field.
You will go to Babylon;(AD)
there you will be rescued.
There the Lord will redeem(AE) you
out of the hand of your enemies.
11 But now many nations
are gathered against you.
They say, “Let her be defiled,
let our eyes gloat(AF) over Zion!”
12 But they do not know
the thoughts of the Lord;
they do not understand his plan,(AG)
that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.
13 “Rise and thresh,(AH) Daughter Zion,
for I will give you horns of iron;
I will give you hooves of bronze,
and you will break to pieces many nations.”(AI)
You will devote their ill-gotten gains to the Lord,(AJ)
their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.

4 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it.
5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.
6 In that day, saith the Lord, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;
7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the Lord shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.
8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
9 Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.
10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the Lord shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
11 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.
12 But they know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.
13 Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the Lord, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
