Isang Awit ng Pag-akyat upang Sumamba; katha ni Solomon.

127 Maliban nga na si Yahweh ang nagtatag nitong bahay,
    ang ginawa ng nagtayo ay wala ring kabuluhan;
maliban nga na si Yahweh ang sa lunsod ay gumabay,
    ang pagmamasid ng bantay ay wala ring saysay.
²Hindi dapat pakahirap, magpagal sa hanapbuhay;
    maaga pa kung bumangon, gabing-gabi kung humimlay,
pagkat pinagpapahinga ni Yahweh ang kanyang mahal.

³Kaloob nga ni Yahweh itong ating mga anak,
    ang ganitong mga supling, pagpapalang mayro'ng galak.
⁴Ang lalaking mga anak sa panahong kabataan,
    ang katulad ay palaso sa kamay ng isang kawal.
⁵Mapalad ang isang taong mapalasong tulad niyan,
hindi siya malulupig, at malayo sa kahihiyan,
    kung sila man ng kalaban ay magtagpo sa hukuman.

127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

²It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

³Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

⁴As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

⁵Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

127 Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless ^(A)the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
²It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To ^(B)eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.

³Behold, ^(C)children are a heritage from the Lord,
^(D)The fruit of the womb is a ^(E)reward.
⁴Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
⁵^(F)Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
