Ewòd pran Jezi pou Janbatis
(Mak 6:14-29; Lik 9:7-9)
14 Nan menm peryòd la, Ewòd, ki t ap gouvène rejyon Galile a, te tande tout sa moun yo t ap di sou Jezi. 2 Li di sèvitè l yo: “Nonm sa a pa ka lòt moun sinon Janbatis. Se paske li resisite ki fè li gen pouvwa pou l fè tout gwo mirak sa yo.”
Men kijan Janbatis te mouri
3 Ewòd te di sa, paske se li menm ki te bay lòd pou arete Jan, anchene l epi mete l nan prizon. Ewòd te arete l poutèt Ewodias, madanm Filip, frè Ewòd. 4 Janbatis te di Ewòd: “Li pa nòmal, selon lalwa, pou ou pran madanm frè w pou w marye avè l.” 5 Ewòd te santi fòk li ta touye Janbatis! Men, li te pè reyaksyon pèp la, paske yo te toujou kwè Jan se yon pwofèt.
6 Men, nan jou fèt anivèsè nesans Ewòd, pitit fi Ewodias la te tèlman byen danse devan envite yo, sa te fè Ewòd plezi anpil. 7 Konsa Ewòd fè sèman l ap bay ti madmwazèl la kèlkeswa sa l ta mande. 8 Ti demwazèl la fè yon ti pale ak manman l, epi li di Ewòd: “Silvouplè, ban mwen tèt Janbatis. Pote l ban mwen nan yon kabare.”
9 Sa te fè Ewòd tris anpil. Men, poutèt pwomès li te fè devan tout envite yo, li te oblije kenbe mo l. 10 Li pase sòlda l yo lòd pou yo ale nan prizon an epi koupe tèt Janbatis. 11 Sòlda yo koupe tèt Janbatis. Yo mete tèt la nan yon asyèt, yo pote l bay madmwazèl la. Epi demwazèl la pran l pote bay manman l. 12 Lè disip Jan yo pran nouvèl la, yo vin pran kò a, yo antere l. Apre sa, yo pote nouvèl la bay Jezi.
Jezi bay plis pase 5,000 moun manje

13 Lè Jezi te tande nouvèl la, li monte nan yon bato epi li travèse ale nan yon kote ki pa gen moun. Men moun yo ki te tande sa, yon foul moun ki sòti nan tout vilaj yo kouri ale kote yo t ap ale a. 14 Konsa, lè Jezi desann bato a, li te wè yon gwo foul moun ki te gen tan la ap tann li. Kè l te fè l mal anpil pou moun yo, epi li geri tout malad ki te nan foul la.
15 Li te kòmanse fènwa. Disip yo vin kote l epi yo di l: “Zòn sa a pa gen moun menm, epi li deja fin ta. Voye moun yo ale pou yo ka al chache manje achte nan zòn alantou yo.”
16 Jezi di yo: “Yo pa bezwen ale. Degaje nou pou n ba yo manje!”
17 Yo reponn Jezi: “Men se sèlman senk pen ak de pwason nou genyen.”
18 Jezi di: “Pote sa nou genyen yo ban mwen.” 19 Apre sa, li mande tout moun yo pou yo chita sou zèb yo. Li pran senk pen ak de pwason yo. Li leve je l anlè epi li di Bondye mèsi pou manje a. Apre sa, li kase pen yo fè plizyè moso epi li bay disip yo pou yo distribye bay moun yo. 20 Tout moun te manje vant deboutonnen. Lè tout moun fin rasazye, yo te ranmase douz panye plen rabouch ak ti mòso ki te rete. 21 Antotal te gen senk mil gason san konte medam yo ak timoun yo ki te manje jou sa a.
Jezi mache sou dlo
(Mak 6:45-52; Jan 6:16-21)
22 Apre sa, Jezi fè disip li yo monte nan yon bato pou yo travèse lak la. Men li menm, li te rete dèyè pou l te ka voye tout moun lakay yo. 23 Apre li fin voye tout moun lakay yo, Jezi te monte sou tèt yon ti mòn pou l al priye. Jezi te rete la pou kont li, menm apre li fin fènwa. 24 Bato disip yo te ladan l lan te gen tan byen lwen nan mitan lak la. Men poutèt yon van kontrè ki t ap soufle vag yo te move anpil epi bato a te nan gwo difikilte.
25 Ant twazè a sizè dimaten, bato a patko janm rive atè. Jezi te pati ale jwenn disip li yo. Li t ap mache sou dlo a. 26 Lè disip yo wè l ap mache sou dlo a, lapèrèz te pran yo. Yo tout te kòmanse rele “Anmwe, zonbi!”
27 Lè Jezi wè sa, li di yo: “Nou pa bezwen pè, se mwen!”
28 Lè sa a, Pyè di li: “Si ou vre Senyè, fè m mache sou dlo a vin jwenn ou.”
29 Jezi di li: “Vini non!”
Konsa Pyè desann bato a epi li kòmanse mache sou dlo a pou l al jwenn Jezi. 30 Lè Pyè reyalize jan van an te toujou fò, lapèrèz te pran l. Epi, Pyè kòmanse fè fon. Li rele byen fò: “Jezi, sove m!”
31 Lè sa a, Jezi lonje men l, li pran Pyè epi li di l: “Lafwa w piti! Sa ou te bezwen doute fè?”
32 Monte Jezi monte nan bato a avèk yo, tout van an sispann. 33 Lè sa a, disip Jezi yo te kòmanse adore l. Yo t ap di: “Nou wè vrèman vre, ou se pitit Bondye.”
Jezi geri anpil moun malad
(Mak 6:53-56)
34 Apre yo fin travèse lak la, Jezi ak disip li yo te debake Jenezarèt. 35 Moun ki te bò lak la epi ki te wè lè Jezi t ap desann bato a, voye nouvèl toupatou pou fè moun yo konnen Jezi nan zòn nan. Konsa, moun yo mennen tout moun malad yo bay Jezi. 36 Yo te priye Jezi pou l ba yo pèmisyon pou yo touche ke manto li pou yo ka geri. Konsa tout moun ki te touche ke manto Jezi a te jwenn gerizon.

John the Baptist Beheaded(A)
14 At that time Herod(B) the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus,(C) 2 and he said to his attendants, “This is John the Baptist;(D) he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”
3 Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison(E) because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,(F) 4 for John had been saying to him: “It is not lawful for you to have her.”(G) 5 Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people, because they considered John a prophet.(H)
6 On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for the guests and pleased Herod so much 7 that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. 8 Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” 9 The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted 10 and had John beheaded(I) in the prison. 11 His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. 12 John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it.(J) Then they went and told Jesus.
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand(K)(L)
13 When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. 14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them(M) and healed their sick.(N)
15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”
16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17 “We have here only five loaves(O) of bread and two fish,” they answered.
18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves.(P) Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Jesus Walks on the Water(Q)(R)
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.(S) Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,”(T) they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage!(U) It is I. Don’t be afraid.”(V)
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,”(W) he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”(X)
34 When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret. 35 And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him 36 and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak,(Y) and all who touched it were healed.
