¹⁶ When Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water. The heavens^(A) suddenly opened for him,^[a] and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him.^(B)

¹⁰ As soon as he came up out of the water, he saw the heavens^(A) being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

The Baptism of Jesus

²¹ When all the people were baptized,^(A) Jesus also was baptized. As he was praying,^(B) heaven opened,^(C)

⁵¹ Then he said, “Truly I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God^(A) ascending and descending^(B) on the Son of Man.”^(C)

⁵⁶ He said, “Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” ^(A)

¹¹ He saw heaven opened^(A) and an object that resembled a large sheet coming down, being lowered by its four corners to the earth.

The Throne Room of Heaven

4 After this I looked, and there in heaven was an open door. The first voice that I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet^(A) said, “Come up here,^(B) and I will show you what must take place after this.”^(C)

The Rider on a White Horse

¹¹ Then I saw heaven opened,^(A) and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True,^(B) and with justice he judges and makes war.^(C)
