³⁹ And ^(A)those who passed by ^(B)derided him, ^(C)wagging their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, ^(D)“You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! ^(E)If you are ^(F)the Son of God, come down from the cross.” ⁴¹ So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him, saying, ^42 (G)“He saved others; ^(H)he cannot save himself. ^(I)He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. ^43 (J)He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

²⁹ And ^(A)those who passed by derided him, ^(B)wagging their heads and saying, ^(C)“Aha! ^(D)You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, ³⁰ save yourself, and come down from the cross!” ³¹ So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, ^(E)“He saved others; ^(F)he cannot save himself. ³² Let ^(G)the Christ, ^(H)the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may ^(I)see and believe.” ^(J)Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.

³⁵ And ^(A)the people stood by, watching, ^(B)but ^(C)the rulers ^(D)scoffed at him, saying, ^(E)“He saved others; ^(F)let him save himself, ^(G)if he is ^(H)the Christ of God, ^(I)his Chosen One!” ³⁶ The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and ^(J)offering him sour wine
