Peter Denies His Lord

⁶⁹ Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard.^(A) A servant girl approached him and said, “You were with Jesus the Galilean too.”

⁷⁰ But again he denied it. After a little while those standing there said to Peter again, “You certainly are one of them, since you’re also a Galilean.”^[a](A)

Repent or Perish

13 At that time,^(A) some people came and reported to him about the Galileans^(B) whose blood Pilate^(C) had mixed with their sacrifices. ² And he^[a] responded to them, “Do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all the other Galileans because they suffered these things?^(D)

⁵⁹ About an hour later, another kept insisting, “This man was certainly with him, since he’s also a Galilean.”

Jesus Faces Herod Antipas

⁶ When Pilate^(A) heard this,^[a] he asked if the man was a Galilean.

¹¹ They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come in the same way that you have seen him going into heaven.”^(A)

⁷ They were astounded and amazed, saying,^[a] “Look, aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?^(A)

³⁷ After this man, Judas the Galilean rose up in the days of the census and attracted a following. He also perished, and all his followers were scattered.
