⁵Although Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the crowd, because they regarded him as a prophet.

⁷⁶And child, you will be called
a prophet of the Most High,^(A)
for you will go before the Lord
to prepare His ways,^(B)

⁷⁶And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High,

⁶But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people^(A) will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”^(B)
