¹⁷ For truly I say to you that ^(A)many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

^13 (A)All these died in faith, ^(B)without receiving the promises, but ^(C)having seen and welcomed them from a distance, and ^(D)having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
