²¹ At that time^(A) he^[a] rejoiced in the Holy^[b] Spirit^(B) and said, “I praise^[c] you, Father,^(C) Lord of heaven and earth,^(D) because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent^(E) and revealed them to infants.^(F) Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.^[d](G)

⁵ He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

⁹ He made known to us the mystery of his will,^(A) according to his good pleasure that he purposed in Christ^(B)
