(A)And they brought to Him a (B)paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, (C)Take courage, [a]son; (D)your sins are forgiven.” And some of the scribes said [b]to themselves, “This fellow (E)blasphemes.” And Jesus (F)knowing their thoughts said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, ‘(G)Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’? But so that you may know that (H)the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then He *said to the (I)paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.” And he got up and [c]went home. But when the crowds saw this, they were [d]awestruck, and (J)glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

Knowing their thoughts,(F) Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man(G) has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. (A)And they *came, bringing to Him a (B)paralytic, carried by four men. Being unable to [a]get to Him because of the crowd, they (C)removed the roof [b]above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the (D)paralytic was lying. And Jesus seeing their faith *said to the paralytic, [c]Son, (E)your sins are forgiven.” But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; (F)who can forgive sins [d]but God alone?” Immediately Jesus, aware [e]in His spirit that they were reasoning that way within themselves, *said to them, “Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the (G)paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk’? 10 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—He *said to the paralytic, 11 “I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet and go home.” 12 And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and (H)were glorifying God, saying, “(I)We have never seen anything like this.”

Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man,(A) carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”(B)

Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”(C)

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man(D) has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God,(E) saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”(F)
