24 Ingen kan tjäna två herrar, för antingen kommer han att hata den förste och älska den andre, eller att hålla sig till den ene och inte bry sig om den andre. Ni kan inte tjäna Gud och mammon[a] samtidigt.

Om att oroa sig

25 Därför säger jag er: oroa er inte för hur ni ska klara livet, hur ni ska få mat och dryck eller kläder att ta på er. Nog är livet mer än maten och kroppen mer än kläderna? 26 Se på himlens fåglar! De varken sår eller skördar eller samlar i lador, men er Fader i himlen ger dem mat ändå. Är ni inte mycket mer värda än fåglarna?
