23 Men om ditt öga är förmörkat av onda tankar och begär så är du i djupt andligt mörker, och det mörkret är verkligen nattsvart!
24 Ni kan inte tjäna två herrar för då kommer ni att hata den ene och älska den andre. Därför kan ni inte heller leva för Gud och samtidigt lida av penningbegär.
Om oro och bekymmer
25 Därför säger jag: Oroa er inte för pengar till mat och dryck och för kläder att ha på kroppen. Livet är mer än att äta och dricka, och en människa betyder mer än kläderna hon har på sig.

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.(A)

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry(C) about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
