⁶⁶ What do you think?”

They answered and said, ^(A)“He is deserving of death.”

⁷ The Jews answered him, ^(A)“We have a law, and according to ^[a]our law He ought to die, because ^(B)He made Himself the Son of God.”

^52 (A)Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of ^(B)the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,

⁶ You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.

²⁷ For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, ^(A)because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him. ^28 (B)And though they found no cause for death in Him, they asked Pilate that He should be put to death.

¹¹ And the Israelite woman’s son ^(A)blasphemed the name of the Lord and ^(B)cursed; and so they ^(C)brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.) ¹² Then they ^(D)put him ^[a]in custody, ^(E)that ^[b]the mind of the Lord might be shown to them.

¹³ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁴ “Take outside the camp him who has cursed; then let all who heard him ^(F)lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

¹⁵ “Then you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Whoever curses his God ^(G)shall ^[c]bear his sin. ¹⁶ And whoever ^(H)blasphemes the name of the Lord shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall certainly stone him, the stranger as well as him who is born in the land. When he blasphemes the name of the Lord, he shall be put to death.
