¹⁹ So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover meal.^(A)

¹⁴ You are my friends if you do what I command you.^(A)

⁵ His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

⁶ The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them;

¹⁰ When the service had been prepared, the priests stood in their place and the Levites in their divisions according to the king’s command.^{(A) 11} They slaughtered the Passover lamb, and the priests dashed the blood that they received^[a] from them, while the Levites did the skinning.^(B)

⁴ If a household is too small for a whole lamb, it shall join its closest neighbor in obtaining one; the lamb shall be divided in proportion to the number of people who eat of it. ⁵ Your lamb shall be without blemish, a year-old male; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats.^{(A) 6} You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month; then the whole assembled congregation of Israel shall slaughter it at twilight.^{(B) 7} They shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it. ⁸ They shall eat the lamb that same night; they shall eat it roasted over the fire with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.^(C)
