²⁷ Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received what was my own with interest.^(A)

¹⁵ to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly^[a] of all the deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

¹⁹ Now we know that, whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.^(A)

²² He said to him, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked slave! You knew, did you, that I was a harsh man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?^{(A) 23} Why, then, did you not put my money into the bank? Then when I returned, I could have collected it with interest.’

¹⁹ “You shall not charge interest on loans to another Israelite,^[a] interest on money, interest on provisions, interest on anything that is lent.^{(A) 20} On loans to a foreigner you may charge interest, but on loans to another Israelite^[b] you may not charge interest, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all your undertakings in the land that you are about to enter and possess.^(B)
