²⁵ Now there were seven brothers among us; the first married and died childless, leaving the widow to his brother.

²⁷ And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once and after that the judgment,^(A)

²⁹ Now there were seven brothers; the first married a woman and died childless; ³⁰ then the second^{[a] 31} and the third married her, and so in the same way all seven died childless. ³² Finally the woman also died. ³³ In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be? For the seven had married her.”

¹⁹ “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies, leaving a wife but no child, the man^[a] shall marry the widow and raise up children for his brother.^{(A) 20} There were seven brothers; the first married and, when he died, left no children, ²¹ and the second married the widow^[b] and died, leaving no children, and the third likewise; ²² none of the seven left children. Last of all the woman herself died. ²³ In the resurrection, when they rise,^[c] whose wife will she be? For all seven had married her.”
