Parábola de los jornaleros contratados
20 El reino de los cielos puede compararse al amo de una finca que salió una mañana temprano a contratar jornaleros para su viña. 2 Convino con los jornaleros en pagarles el salario correspondiente a una jornada de trabajo, y los envió a la viña. 3 Hacia las nueve de la mañana salió de nuevo y vio a otros jornaleros que estaban en la plaza sin hacer nada. 4 Les dijo: “Vayan también ustedes a la viña. Les pagaré lo que sea justo”. 5 Y ellos fueron. Volvió a salir hacia el mediodía, y otra vez a las tres de la tarde, e hizo lo mismo. 6 Finalmente, sobre las cinco de la tarde, volvió a la plaza y encontró otro grupo de desocupados. Les preguntó: “¿Por qué están aquí todo el día sin hacer nada?”. 7 Le contestaron: “Porque nadie nos ha contratado”. Él les dijo: “Pues vayan también ustedes a la viña”.
8 Al anochecer, el amo de la viña ordenó a su capataz: “Llama a los jornaleros y págales su salario, empezando por los últimos hasta los primeros”. 9 Se presentaron, pues, los que habían comenzado a trabajar sobre las cinco de la tarde y cada uno recibió el salario correspondiente a una jornada completa. 10 Entonces los que habían estado trabajando desde la mañana pensaron que recibirían más; pero, cuando llegó su turno, recibieron el mismo salario. 11 Así que, al recibirlo, se pusieron a murmurar contra el amo 12 diciendo: “A estos que sólo han trabajado una hora, les pagas lo mismo que a nosotros, que hemos trabajado toda la jornada soportando el calor del día”. 13 Pero el amo contestó a uno de ellos: “Amigo, no te trato injustamente. ¿No convinimos en que trabajarías por esa cantidad? 14 Pues tómala y vete. Si yo quiero pagar a este que llegó a última hora lo mismo que a ti, 15 ¿no puedo hacer con lo mío lo que quiera? ¿O es que mi generosidad va a provocar tu envidia?”.
16 Así, los que ahora son últimos serán los primeros, y los que ahora son primeros serán los últimos.
Jesús anuncia por tercera vez su muerte y su resurrección (Mc 10,32-34; Lc 18,31-34)
17 Cuando Jesús iba de camino subiendo hacia Jerusalén, llamó aparte a los doce discípulos y les dijo:
18 — Ya ven que estamos subiendo a Jerusalén. Allí el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los jefes de los sacerdotes y a los maestros de la ley que lo condenarán a muerte; 19 luego lo pondrán en manos de extranjeros para que se burlen de él, lo golpeen y lo crucifiquen. Pero al tercer día resucitará.
Petición de los hijos de Zebedeo (Mc 10,35-45)
20 Por entonces se presentó a Jesús la madre de Santiago y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, y se puso de rodillas con intención de pedirle algo. 21 Jesús le preguntó:
— ¿Qué es lo que deseas?
Ella dijo:
— Ordena que estos dos hijos míos se sienten en tu reino, el uno a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda.
22 Jesús respondió:
— No saben lo que están pidiendo. ¿Pueden beber ustedes la misma copa de amargura que yo estoy a punto de beber?
Ellos le contestaron:
— ¡Sí, podemos beberla!
23 Jesús les dijo:
— Pues bien, beberán mi copa de amargura; pero el que se sienten el uno a mi derecha y el otro a mi izquierda, no es cosa mía concederlo; eso es para quienes mi Padre lo ha reservado.
24 Cuando los otros diez discípulos oyeron esto, se sintieron muy molestos con los dos hermanos. 25 Pero Jesús los reunió y les dijo:
— Como muy bien saben ustedes, los que gobiernan las naciones las someten a su dominio, y los poderosos las rigen despóticamente. 26 Pero entre ustedes no debe ser así. Antes bien, si alguno quiere ser grande, que se ponga al servicio de los demás; 27 y si alguno quiere ser principal, que se haga servidor de todos. 28 De la misma manera que el Hijo del hombre no ha venido para ser servido, sino para servir y dar su vida en pago de la libertad de todos.
Curación de dos ciegos (Mc 10,46-52, Lc 18,35-43)
29 Cuando salían de Jericó, una multitud acompañaba a Jesús. 30 En esto, dos ciegos que estaban sentados junto al camino, al oír que Jesús pasaba por allí, se pusieron a gritar:
— ¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!
31 La gente les decía que se callaran, pero ellos gritaban cada vez más:
— ¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!
32 Entonces Jesús se detuvo, los llamó y les preguntó:
— ¿Qué quieren que haga por ustedes?
33 Los ciegos le contestaron:
— Señor, que podamos ver.
34 Jesús, conmovido, les tocó los ojos, y al punto los ciegos recobraron la vista y se fueron tras él.

Das Gleichnis von den Arbeitern im Weinberg
20 Denn das Reich der Himmel gleicht einem Hausherrn, der am Morgen früh ausging, um Arbeiter in seinen Weinberg einzustellen.
2 Und nachdem er mit den Arbeitern um einen Denar für den Tag übereingekommen war, sandte er sie in seinen Weinberg.
3 Als er um die dritte Stunde ausging, sah er andere auf dem Markt untätig stehen
4 und sprach zu diesen: Geht auch ihr in den Weinberg, und was recht ist, will ich euch geben!
5 Und sie gingen hin. Wiederum ging er aus um die sechste und um die neunte Stunde und tat dasselbe.
6 Als er aber um die elfte Stunde ausging, fand er andere untätig dastehen und sprach zu ihnen: Warum steht ihr hier den ganzen Tag untätig?
7 Sie sprachen zu ihm: Es hat uns niemand eingestellt! Er spricht zu ihnen: Geht auch ihr in den Weinberg, und was recht ist, das werdet ihr empfangen!
8 Als es aber Abend geworden war, sprach der Herr des Weinbergs zu seinem Verwalter: Rufe die Arbeiter und bezahle ihnen den Lohn, indem du bei den Letzten anfängst, bis zu den Ersten.
9 Und es kamen die, welche um die elfte Stunde [eingestellt worden waren], und empfingen jeder einen Denar.
10 Als aber die Ersten kamen, meinten sie, sie würden mehr empfangen; da empfingen auch sie jeder einen Denar.
11 Und als sie ihn empfangen hatten, murrten sie gegen den Hausherrn
12 und sprachen: Diese Letzten haben nur eine Stunde gearbeitet, und du hast sie uns gleichgemacht, die wir die Last und Hitze des Tages getragen haben!
13 Er aber antwortete und sprach zu einem unter ihnen: Freund, ich tue dir nicht unrecht. Bist du nicht um einen Denar mit mir übereingekommen?
14 Nimm das Deine und geh hin! Ich will aber diesem Letzten so viel geben wie dir.
15 Oder habe ich nicht Macht, mit dem Meinen zu tun, was ich will? Blickst du darum neidisch, weil ich gütig bin?
16 So werden die Letzten die Ersten und die Ersten die Letzten sein. Denn viele sind berufen, aber wenige auserwählt.
Die dritte Ankündigung von Jesu Tod und Auferstehung
17 Und als Jesus nach Jerusalem hinaufzog, nahm er die zwölf Jünger auf dem Weg beiseite und sprach zu ihnen:
18 Siehe, wir ziehen hinauf nach Jerusalem, und der Sohn des Menschen wird den obersten Priestern und Schriftgelehrten ausgeliefert werden, und sie werden ihn zum Tode verurteilen
19 und werden ihn den Heiden ausliefern, damit diese ihn verspotten und geißeln und kreuzigen; und am dritten Tag wird er auferstehen.
Die Söhne des Zebedäus. Vom Herrschen und vom Dienen
20 Da trat die Mutter der Söhne des Zebedäus mit ihren Söhnen zu ihm und warf sich vor ihm nieder, um etwas von ihm zu erbitten.
21 Er aber sprach zu ihr: Was willst du? Sie sagt zu ihm: Sprich, dass diese meine beiden Söhne einer zu deiner Rechten, der andere zur Linken sitzen sollen in deinem Reich!
22 Aber Jesus antwortete und sprach: Ihr wisst nicht, um was ihr bittet! Könnt ihr den Kelch trinken, den ich trinke, und getauft werden mit der Taufe, womit ich getauft werde? Sie sprechen zu ihm: Wir können es!
23 Und er spricht zu ihnen: Ihr werdet zwar meinen Kelch trinken und getauft werden mit der Taufe, womit ich getauft werde. Aber das Sitzen zu meiner Rechten und zu meiner Linken zu verleihen, steht nicht mir zu, sondern es wird denen zuteil, denen es von meinem Vater bereitet ist.
24 Und als die Zehn es hörten, wurden sie unwillig über die beiden Brüder.
25 Aber Jesus rief sie zu sich und sprach: Ihr wisst, dass die Fürsten der Heidenvölker sie unterdrücken und dass die Großen Gewalt über sie ausüben.
26 Unter euch aber soll es nicht so sein; sondern wer unter euch groß werden will, der sei euer Diener,
27 und wer unter euch der Erste sein will, der sei euer Knecht,
28 gleichwie der Sohn des Menschen nicht gekommen ist, um sich dienen zu lassen, sondern um zu dienen und sein Leben zu geben als Lösegeld für viele.
Die Heilung zweier Blinder in Jericho
29 Und als sie von Jericho auszogen, folgte ihm eine große Volksmenge nach.
30 Und siehe, zwei Blinde saßen am Weg. Als sie hörten, dass Jesus vorüberziehe, riefen sie und sprachen: Herr, du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich über uns!
31 Aber das Volk gebot ihnen, sie sollten schweigen. Sie aber riefen nur noch mehr und sprachen: Herr, du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich über uns!
32 Und Jesus stand still, rief sie und sprach: Was wollt ihr, dass ich euch tun soll?
33 Sie sagten zu ihm: Herr, dass unsere Augen geöffnet werden!
34 Da erbarmte sich Jesus über sie und rührte ihre Augen an, und sogleich wurden ihre Augen wieder sehend, und sie folgten ihm nach.

20 »Asimismo, el reino de los cielos se parece a un propietario que salió de madrugada a contratar obreros para su viñedo. 2 Acordó darles la paga de un día de trabajo[a] y los envió a su viñedo. 3 Cerca de las nueve de la mañana,[b] salió y vio a otros que estaban desocupados en la plaza. 4 Les dijo: “Vayan también ustedes a trabajar en mi viñedo y les pagaré lo que sea justo”. 5 Así que fueron. Salió de nuevo a eso del mediodía, y luego a la media tarde e hizo lo mismo. 6 Alrededor de las cinco de la tarde, salió y encontró a otros más que estaban sin trabajo. Les preguntó: “¿Por qué han estado aquí desocupados todo el día?”. 7 “Porque nadie nos ha contratado”, contestaron. Él les dijo: “Vayan también ustedes a trabajar en mi viñedo”.
8 »Al atardecer, el dueño del viñedo ordenó a su capataz: “Llama a los obreros y págales su salario, comenzando por los últimos contratados hasta llegar a los primeros”. 9 Se presentaron los obreros que habían sido contratados cerca de las cinco de la tarde y cada uno recibió la paga de un día. 10 Por eso, cuando llegaron los que fueron contratados primero, esperaban recibir más. Pero cada uno de ellos recibió también la paga de un día. 11 Al recibirla, comenzaron a murmurar contra el propietario. 12 “Estos que fueron los últimos en ser contratados trabajaron una sola hora —dijeron—, y usted los ha tratado como a nosotros que hemos soportado el peso del trabajo y el calor del día”. 13 Pero él contestó a uno de ellos: “Amigo, no estoy cometiendo ninguna injusticia contigo. ¿Acaso no aceptaste trabajar por esa paga? 14 Tómala y vete. Quiero darle al último obrero contratado lo mismo que te di a ti. 15 ¿Es que no tengo derecho a hacer lo que quiera con mi dinero? ¿O te da envidia que yo sea generoso?”.[c]
16 »Así que los últimos serán primeros y los primeros serán últimos».
Jesús predice de nuevo su muerte(A)
17 Mientras subía Jesús rumbo a Jerusalén, tomó aparte a los doce discípulos y les dijo: 18 «Ahora vamos subiendo a Jerusalén y el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los jefes de los sacerdotes y a los maestros de la Ley. Ellos lo condenarán a muerte 19 y lo entregarán a los gentiles para que se burlen de él, lo azoten y lo crucifiquen. Pero al tercer día resucitará».
La petición de una madre(B)
20 Entonces la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo, junto con ellos, se acercó a Jesús y, arrodillándose, le pidió un favor.
21 —¿Qué quieres? —preguntó Jesús.
Ella le dijo:
—Ordena que en tu reino uno de estos dos hijos míos se siente a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda.
22 —Ustedes no saben lo que están pidiendo —respondió Jesús—. ¿Pueden acaso beber el trago amargo de la copa que yo voy a beber?
—Sí, podemos.
23 —Les aseguro que beberán de mi copa —dijo Jesús—, pero el sentarse a mi derecha o a mi izquierda no me corresponde concederlo. Eso ya lo ha decidido[d] mi Padre.
24 Cuando lo oyeron los otros diez, se indignaron con los dos hermanos. 25 Jesús los llamó y dijo:
—Como ustedes saben, los gobernantes de las naciones oprimen al pueblo y los altos oficiales abusan de su autoridad. 26 Pero entre ustedes no debe ser así. Al contrario, el que quiera hacerse grande entre ustedes deberá ser su servidor 27 y el que quiera ser el primero deberá ser esclavo de los demás, 28 así como el Hijo del hombre no vino para que le sirvan, sino para servir y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos.
Dos ciegos reciben la vista(C)
29 Una gran multitud seguía a Jesús cuando él salía de Jericó con sus discípulos. 30 Dos ciegos que estaban sentados junto al camino, al oír que pasaba Jesús, gritaron:
—¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!
31 La multitud los reprendía para que se callaran, pero ellos gritaban con más fuerza:
—¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!
32 Jesús se detuvo y los llamó.
—¿Qué quieren que haga por ustedes?
33 —Señor, queremos recibir la vista.
34 Jesús se compadeció de ellos y tocó sus ojos. Al instante recobraron la vista y lo siguieron.

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like(A) a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.(B) 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[a] for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So they went.
“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
7 “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.
“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’
8 “When evening came,(C) the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble(D) against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat(E) of the day.’
13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend.(F) Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’(G)
16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”(H)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(I)
17 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, 18 “We are going up to Jerusalem,(J) and the Son of Man(K) will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law.(L) They will condemn him to death 19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged(M) and crucified.(N) On the third day(O) he will be raised to life!”(P)
A Mother’s Request(Q)
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons(R) came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down,(S) asked a favor of him.
21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”(T)
22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup(U) I am going to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup,(V) but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant(W) with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(X) 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man(Y) did not come to be served, but to serve,(Z) and to give his life as a ransom(AA) for many.”
Two Blind Men Receive Sight(AB)
29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David,(AC) have mercy on us!”
31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”
34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.
