(మత్తయి 17:1-13; లూకా 9:28-36)
2 ఆరురోజుల తర్వాత యేసు పేతురును, యాకోబును, యోహానును ఒక ఎత్తైన కొండ మీదికి తనవెంట పిలుచుకు వెళ్ళాడు. వాళ్ళు అక్కడ ఏకాంతంగా ఉన్నారు. అక్కడ యేసు వాళ్ళ సమక్షంలో దివ్యరూపం పొందాడు. 3 ఆయన దుస్తులు మెరువ సాగాయి. ప్రపంచంలో ఏ చాకలి చలువ చేయలేనంత తెల్లగా మారిపొయ్యాయి. 4 ఏలీయా, మోషేలు ప్రత్యక్షమయ్యారు. వాళ్ళు యేసుతో మాట్లాడటం శిష్యులు చూసారు.
5 పేతురు యేసుతో, “రబ్బీ! మనిమిక్కడే ఉండటం మంచిది. మేము మూడు పర్ణశాలలు వేస్తాము. మీకొకటి, మోషేకొకటి, ఏలియాకొకటి” అన్నాడు. 6 శిష్యులు భయపడుతూ ఉండటం వల్ల పేతురుకు ఏమనాలో తోచలేదు.
7 అప్పుడు ఒక మేఘం కనిపించి వాళ్ళను కప్పి వేసింది. ఆ మేఘం నుండి, “ఈయన నా ప్రియమైన కుమారుడు. ఈయన మాట వినండి” అని అనటం వినిపించింది.
8 వెంటనే వాళ్ళు తమ చుట్టూ చూశారు. మిగతా యిద్దరూ వాళ్ళకు కనిపించలేదు. యేసు మాత్రమే కనిపించాడు.

Jesus Transfigured on the Mount
2 (A)Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. 3 His clothes became shining, exceedingly (B)white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. 4 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. 5 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”— 6 because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.
7 And a (C)cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is (D)My beloved Son. (E)Hear Him!” 8 Suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no one anymore, but only Jesus with themselves.

2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John(C) with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. 3 His clothes became dazzling white,(D) whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. 4 And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
5 Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi,(E) it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 6 (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)
7 Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud:(F) “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”(G)
8 Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.
