Jesus Again Foretells His Death and Resurrection^(A)

³⁰ They departed from there and passed through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know it. ³¹ For He was teaching His disciples, saying, “The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. After He is killed, He will rise the third day.” ³² But they did not understand the teaching and were afraid to ask Him.

⁴³ And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God.

But while everyone marveled at all the things Jesus did, He said to His disciples, ⁴⁴ “Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.” ⁴⁵ But they did not understand this statement, and it was hidden from them, so that they did not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask Him about this statement.
