²⁷ And he said to her, “Let the children be ^(A)fed first, for it is not right to take the children's bread and ^(B)throw it to the dogs.”

²³ But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, ^(A)“Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” ²⁴ He answered, ^(B)“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” ²⁵ But she came and ^(C)knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” ²⁶ And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and ^(D)throw it to the dogs.” ²⁷ She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat ^(E)the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” ²⁸ Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, ^(F)great is your faith! ^(G)Be it done for you as you desire.” ^(H)And her daughter was ^(I)healed instantly.^[a]

²¹ And he said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you ^(A)far away to the Gentiles.’”

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

^5 (A)These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of ^(B)the Samaritans,

^6 (A)“Do not give ^(B)dogs what is holy, and do not throw your ^(C)pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.

¹² remember ^(A)that you were at that time separated from Christ, ^(B)alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to ^(C)the covenants of promise, ^(D)having no hope and without God in the world.
