70 Again he denied it.(A)
After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”(B)
71 He began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about.”(C)
72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time.[a] Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice[b] you will disown me three times.”(D) And he broke down and wept.

71 Then he began to curse and swear, “I do not know this Man of whom you speak!”
72 (C)A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And when he thought about it, he wept.
