⁶⁸ But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are talking about.” And he ^(A)went out onto the ^[a]porch.^[b]

⁷² And immediately a rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had made the remark to him, “Before ^(A)a rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And ^[a]he hurried on and began to weep.

³⁸ Jesus *replied, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly I say to you, ^(A)a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times.
