¹⁶ When ^(A)the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, “^(B)Why is He eating and drinking with tax collectors and ^[a]sinners?”

² Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, “This man receives sinners and ^(A)eats with them.”

⁹ And there occurred a great uproar; and some of ^(A)the scribes of the Pharisaic party stood up and began to argue heatedly, saying, “^(B)We find nothing wrong with this man; ^(C)suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”
