The Messenger and the Lord

3 “^(A)Behold, I am going to send ^(B)My ^[a]messenger, and he will ^[b](C)prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; ^[c]and the ^[d](D)messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says Yahweh of hosts.

⁵ “Behold, I am going to send you ^(A)Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of Yahweh. ⁶ And he will ^(B)turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and ^(C)strike the land, ^[a]devoting it to destruction.”
