¹⁸ Jesus Answers the Baptist’s Question.^[a] When the disciples of John brought him reports about all these things, ¹⁹ John designated two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or are we to wait for another?” ²⁰ When they came to him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to you to ask: ‘Are you the one who is to come, or are we to wait for another?’ ”
