⁵ Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man^(A) is Lord of the Sabbath.”

²⁷ Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man,^(A) not man for the Sabbath.^(B)

¹⁰ On the Lord’s Day^(A) I was in the Spirit,^(B) and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,^(C)

⁷ Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud:^(A) “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”^(B)

⁵ The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy^[a] are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.^{(A) 6} Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”^(B)

⁷ As John’s^(C) disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness^(D) to see? A reed swayed by the wind? ⁸ If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces.
