¹³ And when day came, ^(A)He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as ^(B)apostles: ¹⁴ Simon, whom He also named Peter, and his brother Andrew; and ^[a]James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew; ¹⁵ and ^(C)Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot; ¹⁶ Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

^40 (A)One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. ⁴¹ He first *found his own brother Simon and *said to him, “We have found the ^(B)Messiah” (which translated means ^[a]Christ). ⁴² He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of ^[b](C)John; you shall be called ^(D)Cephas” (which is translated ^[c](E)Peter).

^43 (F)The next day He ^[d]decided to go to ^(G)Galilee, and He *found ^(H)Philip. And Jesus *said to him, “^(I)Follow Me.” ⁴⁴ Now ^(J)Philip was from ^(K)Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. ^45 (L)Philip *found ^(M)Nathanael and *said to him, “We have found Him of whom ^(N)Moses wrote in the Law, and ^(O)the prophets also wrote: Jesus ^(P)the son of Joseph, from ^(Q)Nazareth!” ⁴⁶ Nathanael said to him, “^(R)Can anything good be from Nazareth?” ^(S)Philip *said to him, “Come and see.” ⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said of him, “Here is truly an ^(T)Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!” ⁴⁸ Nathanael *said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before ^(U)Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” ⁴⁹ Nathanael answered Him, “^(V)Rabbi, You are ^(W)the Son of God; You are the ^(X)King of Israel!”

² and both Jesus and His ^(A)disciples were invited to the wedding.
