³⁰ And the Pharisees and ^(A)their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, ^(B)“Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

¹¹ And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, ^(A)“Why does your teacher eat with ^(B)tax collectors and sinners?”

¹⁹ The Son of Man came ^(A)eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, ^(B)a friend of ^(C)tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”^[a]

¹⁶ And ^(A)the scribes of^[a] the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, ^(B)“Why does he eat^[b] with tax collectors and sinners?”

^3 (A)“You went to uncircumcised men and ^(B)ate with them.”

¹¹ But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone ^(A)who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

¹² For before certain men came from James, ^(A)he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing ^(B)the circumcision party.^[a]
