^2 (A)Abraham begot Isaac, ^(B)Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot ^(C)Judah and his brothers. ^3 (D)Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, ^(E)Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram. ⁴ Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon.

⁴ Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the descendants of Perez, the son of Judah.

⁹ Also the sons of Hezron who were born to him were Jerahmeel, ^[a]Ram, and ^[b]Chelubai. ¹⁰ Ram ^(A)begot Amminadab, and Amminadab begot Nahshon, ^(B)leader of the children of Judah;

⁴ And ^(A)Tamar, his daughter-in-law, ^(B)bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

⁵ The sons of ^(C)Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

¹⁹ Hezron begot Ram, and Ram begot Amminadab; ²⁰ Amminadab begot ^(A)Nahshon, and Nahshon begot ^(B)Salmon;^[a]

¹² May your house be like the house of ^(A)Perez, ^(B)whom Tamar bore to Judah, because of ^(C)the offspring which the Lord will give you from this young woman.”

²⁰ And ^(A)the sons of Judah according to their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Parzites; of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites. ²¹ And the sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
