Luke 24:45-53

⁴⁵ Then ^(A)he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ and said to them, “Thus ^(B)it is written, ^(C)that the Christ should suffer and on the third day ^(D)rise from the dead, ⁴⁷ and that ^(E)repentance for^[a] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed ^(F)in his name ^(G)to all nations, ^(H)beginning from Jerusalem. ^48 (I)You are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And behold, I am sending ^(J)the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you ^(K)are clothed with ^(L)power ^(M)from on high.”

The Ascension

⁵⁰ And ^(N)he led them out as far as ^(O)Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. ⁵¹ While he blessed them, ^(P)he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. ⁵² And they ^(Q)worshiped him and ^(R)returned to Jerusalem ^(S)with great joy, ⁵³ and ^(T)were continually in the temple ^(U)blessing God.
