Luke 23:51-53

⁵¹and had not given his consent to the court’s verdict or actions. He was from Arimathea, a town in Judaea, and he was longing for God’s kingdom. ⁵²He approached Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. ⁵³He took it down, wrapped it in a shroud, and put it in a tomb hollowed out of the rock, where no one had ever been laid.

He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God.^(A) ⁵²Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body. ⁵³Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid.
