³⁵ The^(A) people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing:^(B) “He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!” ^(C)

²⁰ and how our chief priests and leaders^(A) handed him over to be sentenced to death,^(B) and they crucified him.^(C)

²⁶ Yet, look, he’s speaking publicly and they’re saying nothing to him. Can it be true that the authorities^(A) know he is the Messiah?^(B)

⁴⁸ Have any of the rulers^(A) or Pharisees believed in him?

⁴² Nevertheless, many did believe in him even among the rulers,^(A) but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, so that they would not be banned from the synagogue.
