The Priests Plot How To Kill Jesus
22 Now the Feast of Unleavened-Bread, the one being called Passover, was drawing-near. 2 And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking as to how they might kill[a] Him, for they were fearing the people.
Judas Betrays Jesus To The Priests
3 And Satan entered into Judas, the one being called “Iscariot”, being one of the number of the twelve. 4 And having gone, he talked-with the chief priests and [temple] captains as to how he might hand Him over to them. 5 And they rejoiced[b] and agreed to give him money. 6 And he consented, and was seeking a favorable-opportunity that he might hand Him over without[c] a crowd with them.
Jesus Celebrates Passover With The Twelve
7 And the [first] day of the Feast of Unleavened-Bread came— on which it-was-necessary that the Passover [lamb] be sacrificed. 8 And He sent-forth Peter and John, having said, “Having gone, prepare the Passover [meal] for us in order that we may eat it ”. 9 And the ones said to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare it?” 10 And the One said to them, “Behold— you having entered into the city, a man will meet you carrying a jar of water. Follow him to the house into which he proceeds. 11 And you will say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest-room where I may eat the Passover [meal] with My disciples?”’ 12 And that one will show you a large upstairs-room having been spread [with furnishings]. Prepare it there”. 13 And having gone, they found it just as He had told them. And they prepared the Passover [meal].
The Bread And The Wine Are Given a New Meaning
14 And when the hour came, He fell back [to eat], and the apostles with Him. 15 And He said to them, “I greatly desired to eat this Passover [meal] with you before I suffer. 16 For I say to you that I will by no means eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God”. 17 And having taken a cup[d], having given-thanks, He said “Take this and distribute it to yourselves. 18 For I say to you that I will by no means drink from the fruit of the grapevine from now on until which time the kingdom of God comes”. 19 And having taken bread, having given-thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying “This is My body, the one being given for you. Be doing this for My remembrance”. 20 And similarly the cup after the dining, saying “This cup is the new covenant in My blood— the blood being poured-out for you. 21 Yet behold— the hand of the one handing Me over is with Mine on the table! 22 Because the Son of Man is proceeding according-to the thing having been determined[e]— nevertheless, woe to that man by whom He is being handed-over!” 23 And they began to discuss with themselves as to which of them then the one going to do this thing might be.
The Disciples Argue Over Who Is Greatest. The Greatest Is The Servant of All
24 And a contention also took place among them as to which of them seems[f] to be greater[g]. 25 And the One said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles are lording-over[h] them. And the ones having-authority over them are calling-themselves ‘Benefactors[i]’. 26 But you shall not be so. But let the greater[j] one among you be like the younger one; and the one leading like the one serving. 27 For who is greater, the one reclining-back [to eat] or the one serving? Is it not the one reclining-back? But I am in your midst as the One serving! 28 But you are the ones having continued with Me in My trials. 29 And I am conferring[k] you a kingdom, just as My Father conferred Me 30 so that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom. And you will sit on thrones judging[l] the twelve tribes of Israel.
Peter Will Deny Jesus
31 “Simon, Simon. Behold— Satan asked-for[m] you[n] all that he might sift[o] you like wheat. 32 But I prayed for you[p], that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned-back, establish[q] your brothers”. 33 But the one said to Him, “Lord, I am prepared to go with You even[r] to prison and to death!” 34 And the One said, “I say to you, Peter, a rooster will not crow today until you deny three-times that you know Me”.
Jesus Tells The Disciples To Prepare For a New Assignment
35 And He said to them, “When I sent you out without money-bag and [traveler’s] bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” And the ones said, “Nothing”. 36 And He said to them, “But now[s] let the one having a money-bag take it. Likewise also a [traveler’s] bag. And let the one not having one sell his cloak and buy a sword. 37 For I say to you that this [saying] having been written [in Isa 53:12] must be fulfilled in Me: ‘And He was counted[t] with lawless ones’. For indeed the thing concerning Me has a fulfillment[u]”. 38 And the ones said, “Lord, behold— here are two swords”. And the One said to them, “It is enough”.
Jesus Waits And Prays On The Mount of Olives
39 And having gone out, He went in accordance with His custom to the Mount of Olives. And the disciples also, they followed Him. 40 And having come-to-be at the place, He said to them, “Be praying that you may not enter into temptation”. 41 And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw. And having put down His knees, He was praying, 42 saying “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me. Yet let not My will, but Yours be done”. 43 And[v] an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him. 44 And having come-to-be in agony, He was praying more-fervently. And His sweat became like[w] drops of blood going down upon the ground. 45 And having arisen from prayer, having come to the disciples, He found them being asleep because of grief. 46 And He said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Having stood-up, be praying that[x] you may not enter into temptation”.
Jesus Is Betrayed With a Kiss, And Arrested
47 While He was still speaking, behold— a crowd. And the one being called Judas, one of the twelve, was preceding[y] them. And he drew-near to Jesus to kiss Him. 48 And Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you handing-over the Son of Man with a kiss?” 49 And the ones around Him, having seen the thing which will happen, said “Lord, shall we strike with a sword?” 50 And a certain one of them struck the slave of the high priest and took-off his right ear. 51 But having responded, Jesus said, “Allow[z] up to this”. And having touched his ear, He healed him. 52 And Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders having come against Him, “Did you come out with swords and clubs as-if against a robber? 53 Daily while I was being with you in the temple, you did not stretch-out your hands against Me. But this is your hour, and the authority of darkness”.
Jesus Is Led Into The House of The High Priest; Peter Denies Him Three Times
54 And having arrested Him, they led Him, and brought Him into the house of the high priest. And Peter was following at-a-distance. 55 And they having kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and having sat-down-together, Peter was sitting amidst them. 56 And a certain servant-girl, having seen him sitting toward the light, and having looked-intently at him, said “This one also was with Him”. 57 But the one denied it, saying “I do not know Him, woman”. 58 And after a short time, another man having seen him said, “You also are one of them”. But Peter said, “Man, I am not!” 59 And about one hour having passed[aa], a certain other man was insisting, saying “In accordance with truth, this one also was with Him, for he also is a Galilean”. 60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying”. And at-once, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. 61 And having turned, the Lord looked-at Peter. And Peter was reminded of the word of the Lord— how He said to him that “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three-times”. 62 And having gone outside, he wept bitterly. 63 And the men holding Him were mocking Him while beating Him. 64 And having covered Him, they were asking Him, saying “Prophesy— who is the one having hit You?” 65 And blaspheming, they were saying many other things against Him.
Jesus Is Led Before The Sanhedrin. He Tells Them He Is The Son of God
66 And when it became day, the Council-of-elders of the people was gathered together— both chief priests and scribes. And they led Him away to their council[ab] [chamber], 67 saying “If You are the Christ, tell us”. But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will by no means believe. 68 And if I question you, you will by no means answer. 69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be sitting[ac] on the right side of the power of God”. 70 And they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?” And the One said to them, “You are saying[ad] that I am”. 71 And the ones said, “What further need do we have of testimony? For we ourselves heard it from His mouth”.

VI.— LA PASCUA DE JESÚS (22,1—24,49)
El complot contra Jesús (Mt 26,1-5; Mc 14,1-2; Jn 11,45-53)
22 Ya estaba cerca la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura, es decir, de la Pascua, 2 y los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley andaban buscando la manera de matar a Jesús, pues temían al pueblo.
Judas traiciona a Jesús (Mt 26,14-16; Mc 14,10-11)
3 Entonces Satanás entró en Judas, al que llamaban Iscariote, que era uno de los Doce. 4 Este fue a tratar con los jefes de los sacerdotes y con los oficiales de la guardia del Templo el modo de entregarles a Jesús. 5 Ellos se alegraron y, a cambio, le ofrecieron dinero. 6 Judas aceptó el trato y comenzó a buscar una oportunidad para entregárselo sin que la gente se diera cuenta.
Los discípulos preparan la cena de Pascua (Mt 26,17-19; Mc 14,12-16)
7 Llegado el día de los Panes sin levadura, cuando debía sacrificarse el cordero de Pascua, 8 Jesús envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciéndoles:
— Vayan a preparar nuestra cena de Pascua.
9 Le preguntaron:
— ¿Dónde quieres que la preparemos?
10 Jesús les contestó:
— Cuando entren en la ciudad encontrarán a un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; síganlo hasta la casa donde entre 11 y díganlo al dueño de la casa: “El Maestro dice: ¿Cuál es la estancia donde voy a celebrar la cena de Pascua con mis discípulos?”. 12 Él les mostrará una sala amplia y ya dispuesta en el piso de arriba. Prepárenlo todo allí.
13 Los discípulos fueron y encontraron las cosas como Jesús les había dicho. Y prepararon la cena de Pascua.
La cena del Señor (Mt 26,26-30; Mc 14,22-25; 1 Co 11,23-25)
14 Cuando llegó la hora, Jesús se sentó a la mesa junto con los apóstoles. 15 Entonces les dijo:
— ¡Cuánto he deseado comer esta Pascua con ustedes antes de mi muerte! 16 Porque les digo que no volveré a comerla hasta que tenga su cumplimiento en el reino de Dios.
17 Tomó luego en sus manos una copa, dio gracias a Dios y dijo:
— Tomen esto y repártanlo entre ustedes, 18 porque les digo que ya no beberé más de este fruto de la vid hasta que venga el reino de Dios.
19 Después tomó pan, dio gracias a Dios, lo partió y se lo dio diciendo:
— Esto es mi cuerpo, entregado en favor de ustedes. Hagan esto en recuerdo de mí.
20 Lo mismo hizo con la copa después de haber cenado, diciendo:
— Esta copa es la nueva alianza, confirmada con mi sangre, que va a ser derramada en favor de ustedes. 21 Pero ahora, sobre la mesa y junto a mí, está la mano del que me traiciona. 22 Es cierto que el Hijo del hombre ha de recorrer el camino que le está señalado, pero ¡ay de aquel que lo traiciona!
23 Los discípulos comenzaron entonces a preguntarse unos a otros quién de ellos sería el traidor.
Grandeza del servicio cristiano (Mt 20,25-27; Mc 10,42-44)
24 Surgió también una disputa entre los apóstoles acerca de cuál de ellos era el más importante. 25 Jesús entonces les dijo:
— Los reyes someten las naciones a su dominio, y los que ejercen poder sobre ellas se hacen llamar bienhechores. 26 Pero entre ustedes no debe ser así. Antes bien, el más importante entre ustedes debe ser como el más pequeño, y el que dirige debe ser como el que sirve. 27 Pues ¿quién es más importante, el que se sienta a la mesa o el que sirve? ¿No es, acaso, el que se sienta a la mesa? Sin embargo, yo estoy entre ustedes como el que sirve.
28 Pero ustedes son los que han permanecido a mi lado en mis pruebas. 29 Por eso, yo quiero asignarles un reino, como mi Padre me lo asignó a mí, 30 para que coman y beban en la mesa de mi reino, y se sienten en tronos para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.
Jesús predice la negación de Pedro (Mt 26,31-35; Mc 14,27-31; Jn 13,36-38)
31 Y el Señor dijo:
— Simón, Simón, Satanás los ha reclamado a ustedes para zarandearlos como a trigo en la criba; 32 pero yo he pedido por ti, para que no desfallezca tu fe. Y tú, cuando recuperes la confianza, ayuda a tus hermanos a permanecer firmes.
33 Pedro le dijo:
— ¡Señor, estoy dispuesto a ir contigo a la cárcel e incluso a la muerte!
34 Jesús le contestó:
— Pedro, te digo que no cantará hoy el gallo sin que hayas negado tres veces que me conoces.
La hora decisiva
35 Les dijo también Jesús:
— Cuando los envié sin bolsa, sin zurrón y sin sandalias, ¿les faltó acaso algo?
Ellos contestaron:
— Nada.
36 Y continuó diciéndoles:
— Pues ahora, en cambio, el que tenga una bolsa, que la lleve consigo, y que haga lo mismo el que tenga un zurrón; y el que no tenga espada, que venda su manto y la compre. 37 Porque les digo que tiene que cumplirse en mí lo que dicen las Escrituras: Lo incluyeron entre los criminales. Todo lo que se ha escrito de mí, tiene que cumplirse.
38 Ellos dijeron:
— ¡Señor, aquí tenemos dos espadas!
Él les contestó:
— ¡Es bastante!
Jesús ora en Getsemaní (Mt 26,36-46; Mc 14,32-42)
39 Después de esto, Jesús salió y, según tenía por costumbre, se dirigió al monte de los Olivos en compañía de sus discípulos. 40 Cuando llegaron, les dijo:
— Oren para que puedan resistir la prueba.
41 Luego se alejó de ellos como un tiro de piedra, se puso de rodillas y oró:
42 — Padre, si quieres, líbrame de esta copa de amargura; pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya.
43 [Entonces se le apareció un ángel del cielo para darle fuerzas. 44 Jesús, lleno de angustia, oraba intensamente. Y le caía el sudor al suelo en forma de grandes gotas de sangre].
45 Después de orar, se levantó y se acercó a sus discípulos. Los encontró dormidos, vencidos por la tristeza, 46 y les preguntó:
— ¿Cómo es que duermen? Levántense y oren para que puedan resistir la prueba.
Jesús es arrestado (Mt 26,47-56; Mc 14,43-50; Jn 18,3-12)
47 Todavía estaba hablando Jesús, cuando se presentó un grupo de gente encabezado por el llamado Judas, que era uno de los Doce. Este se acercó a Jesús para besarlo; 48 pero Jesús le dijo:
— Judas, ¿con un beso vas a entregar al Hijo del hombre?
49 Los que acompañaban a Jesús, al ver lo que sucedía, le preguntaron:
— Señor, ¿los atacamos con la espada?
50 Y uno de ellos dio un golpe al criado del sumo sacerdote y le cortó la oreja derecha. 51 Pero Jesús dijo:
— ¡Déjenlo! ¡Basta ya!
En seguida tocó la oreja herida y la curó. 52 Luego dijo a los jefes de los sacerdotes, a los oficiales de la guardia del Templo y a los ancianos que habían salido contra él:
— ¿Por qué han venido a buscarme con espadas y garrotes, como si fuera un ladrón? 53 Todos los días he estado entre ustedes en el Templo, y no me detuvieron. ¡Pero esta es la hora de ustedes, la hora del poder de las tinieblas!
Pedro niega a Jesús (Mt 26,57-58.69-75; Mc 14,53-54; 66-72; Jn 18,15-18.25-27)
54 Apresaron, pues, a Jesús, se lo llevaron y lo introdujeron en la casa del sumo sacerdote. Pedro iba detrás a cierta distancia. 55 En medio del patio de la casa habían encendido fuego, y estaban sentados en torno a él; también Pedro estaba sentado entre ellos. 56 En esto llegó una criada que, viendo a Pedro junto al fuego, se quedó mirándolo fijamente y dijo:
— Este también estaba con él.
57 Pedro lo negó, diciendo:
— Mujer, ni siquiera lo conozco.
58 Poco después lo vio otro, que dijo:
— También tú eres uno de ellos.
Pedro replicó:
— No lo soy, amigo.
59 Como cosa de una hora más tarde, un tercero aseveró:
— Seguro que este estaba con él, pues es galileo.
60 Entonces Pedro exclamó:
— ¡Amigo, no sé qué estás diciendo!
Todavía estaba Pedro hablando, cuando cantó un gallo. 61 En aquel momento, el Señor se volvió y miró a Pedro. Se acordó Pedro de que el Señor le había dicho: “Hoy mismo, antes que cante el gallo, me habrás negado tres veces” 62 y, saliendo, lloró amargamente.
Burlas e insultos contra Jesús (Mt 26,67-68; Mc 14,65)
63 Los hombres que custodiaban a Jesús se burlaban de él y lo golpeaban. 64 Tapándole los ojos, le decían:
— ¡Adivina quien te ha pegado!
65 Y proferían contra él toda clase de insultos.
Jesús ante el Consejo Supremo (Mt 26,59-66; Mc 14,55-64; Jn 18,12-14.19-24)
66 Cuando se hizo de día, se reunieron los ancianos del pueblo, los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley, y llevaron a Jesús ante el Consejo Supremo. 67 Allí le preguntaron:
— ¿Eres tú el Mesías? ¡Dínoslo de una vez!
Jesús contestó:
— Aunque se lo diga a ustedes, no me van a creer; 68 y si les hago preguntas, no me van a contestar. 69 Sin embargo, desde ahora mismo, el Hijo del hombre estará sentado junto a Dios todopoderoso.
70 Todos preguntaron:
— ¿Así que tú eres el Hijo de Dios?
Jesús respondió:
— Ustedes lo dicen: yo soy.
71 Entonces ellos dijeron:
— ¿Para qué queremos más testigos? Nosotros mismos lo hemos oído de sus propios labios.

Judas acuerda traicionar a Jesús(A)
22 Se aproximaba la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura, llamada la Pascua. 2 Los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la Ley buscaban algún modo de acabar con Jesús, porque temían al pueblo. 3 Entonces entró Satanás en Judas, uno de los doce, al que llamaban Iscariote. 4 Este fue a los jefes de los sacerdotes y a los capitanes del Templo para tratar con ellos cómo les entregaría a Jesús. 5 Ellos se alegraron y acordaron darle dinero. 6 Él aceptó y comenzó a buscar una oportunidad para entregarles a Jesús cuando no hubiera gente.

7 Cuando llegó el día de la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura, en que debía sacrificarse el cordero de la Pascua, 8 Jesús envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciéndoles:
—Vayan a hacer los preparativos para que comamos la Pascua.
9 —¿Dónde quieres que la preparemos? —le preguntaron.
10 —Miren —contestó él—, al entrar ustedes en la ciudad les saldrá al encuentro un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua. Síganlo hasta la casa en que entre 11 y díganle al dueño de la casa: “El Maestro pregunta: ¿dónde está la sala en la que voy a comer la Pascua con mis discípulos?”. 12 Él les mostrará en la planta alta una sala amplia y amueblada. Preparen allí la cena.
13 Ellos se fueron y encontraron todo tal como les había dicho Jesús. Así que prepararon la Pascua.
14 Cuando llegó la hora, Jesús y sus apóstoles se sentaron a la mesa. 15 Entonces les dijo:
—He tenido muchísimos deseos de comer esta Pascua con ustedes antes de padecer, 16 pues les digo que no volveré a comerla hasta que tenga su pleno cumplimiento en el reino de Dios.
17 Luego tomó la copa, dio gracias y dijo:
—Tomen esto y repártanlo entre ustedes. 18 Les digo que no volveré a beber del fruto de la vid hasta que venga el reino de Dios.
19 También tomó pan y, después de dar gracias, lo partió, se lo dio a ellos y dijo:
—Esto es mi cuerpo, entregado por ustedes; hagan esto en memoria de mí.
20 De la misma manera, tomó la copa después de cenar y dijo:
—Esta copa es el nuevo pacto en mi sangre, que es derramada por ustedes. 21 Pero sepan que la mano del que va a traicionarme está con la mía sobre la mesa. 22 El Hijo del hombre se irá según está determinado, pero ¡ay de aquel que lo traiciona!
23 Entonces comenzaron a preguntarse unos a otros quién de ellos haría esto.
24 Tuvieron además un altercado sobre cuál de ellos sería el más importante. 25 Jesús les dijo:
—Los reyes de las naciones oprimen a sus súbditos y los que ejercen autoridad sobre ellos se llaman a sí mismos benefactores. 26 No sea así entre ustedes. Al contrario, el mayor debe comportarse como el menor y el que manda como el que sirve. 27 Porque, ¿quién es más importante, el que está a la mesa o el que sirve? ¿No lo es el que está sentado a la mesa? Sin embargo, yo estoy entre ustedes como uno que sirve. 28 Ahora bien, ustedes son los que han estado siempre a mi lado en mis pruebas. 29 Por eso, yo mismo les concedo un reino, así como mi Padre me lo concedió a mí, 30 para que coman y beban a mi mesa en mi reino y se sienten en tronos para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.
31 »Simón, Simón, mira que Satanás ha pedido zarandearlos a ustedes como si fueran trigo. 32 Pero yo he orado por ti, para que no falle tu fe. Y tú, cuando te hayas vuelto a mí, fortalece a tus hermanos.
33 —Señor —respondió Pedro—, estoy dispuesto a ir contigo tanto a la cárcel como a la muerte.
34 Pero él dijo:
—Pedro, te digo que hoy mismo, antes de que cante el gallo, tres veces negarás que me conoces.
35 Luego Jesús dijo a todos:
—Cuando los envié a ustedes sin monedero ni bolsa ni sandalias, ¿acaso les faltó algo?
—Nada —respondieron.
36 Entonces les dijo:
—Ahora, en cambio, el que tenga un monedero, que lo lleve; así mismo, el que tenga una bolsa. Y el que no tenga espada, que venda su manto y compre una. 37 Porque les digo que tiene que cumplirse en mí aquello que está escrito: “Y fue contado entre los malhechores”.[a] En efecto, lo que se ha escrito de mí se está cumpliendo.[b]
38 —Mira, Señor —le señalaron los discípulos—, aquí hay dos espadas.
—¡Basta! —les contestó.

39 Jesús salió de la ciudad y, como de costumbre, se dirigió al monte de los Olivos y sus discípulos lo siguieron. 40 Cuando llegaron al lugar, les dijo: «Oren para que no caigan en tentación». 41 Entonces se separó de ellos a una buena distancia,[c] se arrodilló y empezó a orar: 42 «Padre, si quieres, no me hagas beber este trago amargo;[d] pero no se cumpla mi voluntad, sino la tuya». 43 Entonces se apareció un ángel del cielo para fortalecerlo. 44 Pero como estaba angustiado, se puso a orar con más fervor y su sudor era como gotas de sangre que caían a tierra.[e]
45 Cuando terminó de orar y volvió a los discípulos, los encontró dormidos, agotados por la tristeza. 46 «¿Por qué están durmiendo? —les exhortó—. Levántense y oren para que no caigan en tentación».
Arresto de Jesús(H)
47 Todavía estaba hablando Jesús cuando se apareció una turba, y al frente iba uno de los doce, el que se llamaba Judas. Este se acercó a Jesús para besarlo, 48 pero Jesús le preguntó:
—Judas, ¿con un beso traicionas al Hijo del hombre?
49 Los discípulos que lo rodeaban, al darse cuenta de lo que pasaba, dijeron:
—Señor, ¿atacamos con la espada?
50 Y uno de ellos hirió al siervo del sumo sacerdote, cortándole la oreja derecha.
51 —¡Déjenlos! —ordenó Jesús.
Entonces tocó la oreja al hombre y lo sanó. 52 Luego dijo a los jefes de los sacerdotes, a los capitanes del Templo y a los líderes religiosos, que habían venido a prenderlo:
—¿Acaso soy un bandido[f] para que vengan con espadas y palos? 53 Todos los días estaba con ustedes en el Templo y no se atrevieron a ponerme las manos encima. Pero ya ha llegado la hora de ustedes, cuando reinan las tinieblas.
Pedro niega a Jesús(I)
54 Prendieron entonces a Jesús y lo llevaron a la casa del sumo sacerdote. Pedro los seguía de lejos. 55 Pero luego, cuando encendieron una fogata en medio del patio y se sentaron alrededor, Pedro se les unió. 56 Una criada lo vio allí sentado a la lumbre, lo miró detenidamente y dijo:
—Este estaba con él.
57 Pero él lo negó, diciendo:
—Muchacha, yo no lo conozco.
58 Poco después lo vio otro y afirmó:
—Tú también eres uno de ellos.
—¡No, hombre, no lo soy! —contestó Pedro.
59 Como una hora más tarde, otro lo acusó:
—Seguro que este estaba con él; miren que es galileo.
60 —¡Hombre, no sé de qué estás hablando! —respondió Pedro.
En el mismo momento en que dijo eso, cantó el gallo. 61 El Señor se volvió y miró directamente a Pedro. Entonces Pedro se acordó de lo que el Señor le había dicho: «Hoy mismo, antes de que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces». 62 Y saliendo de allí, lloró amargamente.
Los soldados se burlan de Jesús(J)
63 Los hombres que vigilaban a Jesús comenzaron a burlarse de él y a golpearlo. 64 Vendaron sus ojos y le preguntaban:
—¡Profetiza! ¿Quién te pegó?
65 Y le lanzaban muchos otros insultos.
Jesús ante Pilato y Herodes(K)(L)(M)
66 Al amanecer, se reunieron los líderes religiosos del pueblo, tanto los jefes de los sacerdotes como los maestros de la Ley, e hicieron comparecer a Jesús ante el Consejo.
67 —Si eres el Cristo, dínoslo —le exigieron.
Jesús contestó:
—Si se lo dijera a ustedes, no me lo creerían 68 y, si les hiciera preguntas, no me contestarían. 69 Pero de ahora en adelante el Hijo del hombre estará sentado a la derecha del Dios Todopoderoso.
70 —¿Eres tú, entonces, el Hijo de Dios? —preguntaron a una voz.
Y él les dijo:
—Ustedes mismos lo dicen.
71 —¿Para qué necesitamos más testimonios? —resolvieron—. Acabamos de oírlo de sus propios labios.
