³⁶ He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.

^22 (A)and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. ^(B)But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ²³ When they ^(C)persecute you in one town, ^(D)flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel ^(E)before the Son of Man comes.

^24 (F)“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant^[a] above his master. ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. ^(G)If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign^[b] those of his household.

⁴ For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, ^(A)just as it has come to pass, and just as you know.

¹⁴ For you, brothers, ^(A)became imitators of ^(B)the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea. For ^(C)you suffered the same things from your own countrymen ^(D)as they did from the Jews,^{[a] 15 (E)}who killed both the Lord Jesus and ^(F)the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and ^(G)oppose all mankind

³³ I have said these things to you, that ^(A)in me you may have peace. ^(B)In the world you will have ^(C)tribulation. But ^(D)take heart; ^(E)I have overcome the world.”

Stewards of God's Grace

4 Since therefore ^(A)Christ suffered in the flesh,^{[a] (B)}arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for ^(C)whoever has suffered in the flesh ^(D)has ceased from sin,

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you: ^(A)‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, ^(B)they will also persecute you. ^(C)If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
