⁵⁰ And ^(A)they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them.

^34 (A)But they understood none of these things. ^(B)This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.

⁵² for ^(A)they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts ^(B)were hardened.

⁶ This figure of speech Jesus ^(A)used with them, but they ^(B)did not understand what he was saying to them.

^16 (A)His disciples did not understand these things at first, but ^(B)when Jesus was glorified, then ^(C)they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.

¹⁷ So ^(A)some of his disciples said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ^(B)‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’; and, ^(C)‘because I am going to the Father’?” ¹⁸ So they were saying, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? ^(D)We do not know what he is talking about.” ^19 (E)Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’?

^13 (A)Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.

^10 (A)So they kept the matter to themselves, ^(B)questioning what this rising from the dead might mean.
