41 Every year his parents traveled to Jerusalem for the Passover Festival.(A) 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the festival.(B) 43 After those days were over,(C) as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents[a] did not know it.

41 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover.(A) 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.

42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
