Luke 19:46-48

⁴⁶ saying to them, “It is written,

‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’^[a]

but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”^[b]

⁴⁷ And He was teaching every day in the Temple. The ruling kohanim and the Torah scholars, even the leaders of the people, were trying to destroy Him; ⁴⁸ but they could not find any way to do it, because all the people were hanging on His words.
