²⁵ But first it is necessary that he suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.^(A)

²⁶ “Just as it was in the days of Noah,^(B) so it will be in the days of the Son of Man: ²⁷ People went on eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage^(C) until the day Noah boarded the ark,^(D) and the flood came and destroyed them all.
