The Lord's Prayer

11 Now Jesus^[a] was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, ^(A)as John taught his disciples.”

^2 (A)Now when John heard ^(B)in prison about the deeds of ^(C)the Christ, he sent word by ^(D)his disciples

¹² And ^(A)his disciples came and took the body and buried it, and they went and told Jesus.

³⁵ The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples,

²⁵ Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over ^(A)purification.

4 Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and ^(A)baptizing more disciples than John

²⁵ He had been instructed in ^(A)the way of the Lord. And ^(B)being fervent in spirit,^[a] he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only ^(C)the baptism of John.

³ And he said, ^(A)“Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into ^(B)John's baptism.”
