⁸ Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you;

²⁷ If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience.

Rewards

⁴⁰ “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.^(A)

²⁰ Very truly, I tell you, whoever receives one whom I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.”^(A)

¹⁰ But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say,

⁴⁸ and said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me, for the least among all of you is the greatest.”^(A)
