11 An angel of the Lord(A) appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. 12 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and overcome with fear.[a] 13 But the angel said to him:
Do not be afraid,(B) Zechariah,
because your prayer has been heard.
Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son,
and you will name him John.(C)
