救われる人は少ない
13 そのころ、ガリラヤ出身のユダヤ人が数名、エルサレムの神殿で供え物をしていた時、ピラトに殺害されたというニュースが、イエスに伝えられました。 2 これを聞いたイエスは言われました。「この人たちが、ほかのどのガリラヤ出身の人よりも罪が深かったから、こんな災難に会ったと思いますか。 3 それは違います。あなたがたも、悔い改めて神に立ち返らなければ、同じように滅びるのです。 4 また、シロアムの塔の下敷きになって、十八人が死にました。彼らのことはどう思いますか。エルサレムで一番罪深い人たちだったのでしょうか。 5 そんなことはありません。あなたがたも罪を悔い改めないなら、同じように滅びるのです。」
6 そして、次のようなたとえを話されました。「ある人が、ぶどう園にいちじくの木を植えました。そして、実がなっているかどうか、何度も見に行きました。ところが、期待はいつも裏切られてばかりです。 7 とうとう主人は怒って、『こんなろくでもない木は切り倒してしまいなさい』と番人に命じました。『三年も待ったのに、一つも実がなったためしがない。もうこれ以上、手をかけることはない。何のために土地をふさいでいるのか。』 8 すると番人は、何とか思いとどまらせようと、なだめにかかりました。『ご主人様。もう一年だけお待ちください。念入りに肥料をやってみましょう。 9 それで来年実がなれば、もうけものです。だめなら、それから切り倒しても遅くはありません。』」
10 ある安息日のこと、イエスは会堂で教えておられました。 11 そこに、十八年もの間、病で腰が曲がったきりで伸ばすことのできない女がいました。 12 イエスが女をそばへ呼び、「さあ、あなたの病気は治りました」とおっしゃって、 13 手をふれると、女の腰は伸びました。女は喜びを抑えきれず、神をあがめ、賛美しました。 14 ところが、会堂の責任を持っていた、この地方のユダヤ人指導者は、それが安息日だというので腹を立て、群衆に怒りをぶちまけました。「よりによって安息日に病気を治してもらうなど、もってのほかだ！ 仕事のできる日は、一週間に六日もあるのだから、その間に治してもらえばいいのだ。」 15 しかし、イエスは言われました。「いいえ、あなたがたこそ偽善者です。安息日に働いていないと言いきれるのですか。安息日でも、家畜を小屋から出して、水を飲ませに連れて行くではありませんか。 16 わたしは今、十八年もの間サタンに束縛されていた、ユダヤ人の女を解放してあげたのです。たまたまそれが安息日だったからといって、どこがいけないのですか。」 17 このイエスのことばに、敵対する者たちは恥じ入り、群衆はみな、イエスの行ったすばらしいみわざを喜びました。
18 そこでイエスは、神の国について教え始められました。「神の国は何に似ているでしょう。どういうふうに説明したらいいでしょう。 19 神の国は、畑にまいた小さなからし種のようです。やがて大きな木に成長し、鳥が枝に巣をかけるほどになるのです。
20-21 また神の国は、パン種のようだとも言えます。目には見えないけれども、少しずつ確実に作用して、パン全体を大きくふくらませるのです。」
22 イエスは町々村々を通り、人々に教えながら、ひたすらエルサレムへと進んで行かれました。 23 ある人がイエスに、「救われる人は少ないのでしょうか」と尋ねました。イエスはお答えになりました。 24 「天国への門は狭いのです。できるかぎりの努力をして、そこから入りなさい。よく言っておきますが、入ろうとしても、入れない人がたくさんいるのです。 25 家の主人が戸を閉めてからでは遅すぎます。外に立ち、どんどんたたきながら、『ご主人様！ 開けてください、お願いでございます』と、なりふりかまわず頼んでも、中からは、『おまえたちなど全然知らない』と、冷たい返事が返ってくるだけです。 26 あなたがたはそれでもあきらめず、『何かのまちがいでは？ 私たちは、あなたと食事をごいっしょしたこともありますし、大通りで教えをいただきました』と食い下がるでしょう。 27 けれども主人は、けんもほろろに答えるのです。『おまえたちなど知らないと言うのが、聞こえないのか。おまえたちのような者は、ここには入れないのだ。とっとと行ってしまいなさい。』
28 アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブ、それに預言者たちもみな神の国に入っているのに、あなたがたはいつまでも外に立ち尽くして、泣きわめき、歯ぎしりするのです。 29 人々は、あちらからもこちらからも来て、神の国に迎え入れられ、席に着きます。 30 いいですか。このことを肝に銘じておきなさい。今は軽んじられている者が、その時には大いにほめたたえられ、今は重んじられている者が、その時には最も軽んじられるのです。」
31 ちょうどその時、数人のパリサイ人が近寄って来て、イエスに忠告しました。「いのちが惜しかったら、ここから出て行きなさい。ヘロデ王があなたを殺そうとねらっています。」
32 イエスはお答えになりました。「あのきつねにこう言ってやりなさい。今日も、明日も、わたしは悪霊を追い出し、病人をいやし、そして三日目に目的を果たします。 33 今日も、明日も、その次の日も、わたしは進んで行くのです。神から遣わされた預言者が、エルサレム以外の場所で殺されることはありえないからです。
34 ああ、エルサレムよ。なんという町でしょう。預言者たちを殺し、町を救うために遣わされた人たちを石で打ち殺すとは。めんどりがひなを翼の下にかばうように、わたしは何度あなたの子どもたちを集めようとしたことでしょう。しかし、あなたがたはそれを拒んだのです。 35 だから今、あなたがたの家は荒れ果てたまま見捨てられます。はっきり言いましょう。あなたがたが、『主の名によって来られる方、祝福あれ』と言うその日まで、わたしの姿を二度と見ることはないのです。」

13 Just då kom några och berättade för Jesus om de galileer vilkas blod Pilatus hade blandat med deras offer. 2 Jesus frågade dem: "Menar ni att dessa galileer var större syndare än alla andra galileer, eftersom de fick utstå detta? 3 Nej, säger jag er, men om ni inte omvänder er, kommer ni alla att gå under som de. 4 Eller de arton som dödades när tornet i Siloam föll ner över dem, menar ni att de var större syndare än alla andra invånare i Jerusalem? 5 Nej, säger jag er, men om ni inte omvänder er, kommer ni alla att gå under på samma sätt."
Liknelsen om fikonträdet som inte bar frukt
6 Sedan berättade han denna liknelse: "En man hade ett fikonträd planterat i sin vingård, och han kom för att se om det fanns frukt på det, men han fann ingen. 7 Då sade han till sin trädgårdsmästare: I tre år har jag kommit och letat efter frukt på det här fikonträdet men inte hittat någon. Hugg ner det! Varför skall det få suga ut jorden? 8 Men trädgårdsmästaren svarade honom: Herre, låt det stå kvar även i år, tills jag har grävt omkring det och gödslat. 9 Kanske bär det frukt nästa år. Annars skall du hugga ner det."
Jesus botar en kvinna på sabbaten
10 En sabbat undervisade Jesus i en av synagogorna. 11 Där fanns en kvinna som hade haft en sjukdomsande i arton år. Hon var krokryggig och kunde inte räta på sig. 12 När Jesus såg henne, kallade han henne till sig och sade till henne: "Kvinna, du är fri från din sjukdom", 13 och så lade han händerna på henne. Genast rätade hon på sig och prisade Gud. 14 Men synagogföreståndaren blev upprörd över att Jesus botade på sabbaten, och han sade till folket: "Sex dagar skall man arbeta. Kom därför och bli botade på dem och inte på sabbaten." 15 Då svarade Herren honom: "Ni hycklare! Löser inte varenda en av er på sabbaten sin oxe eller åsna från krubban och leder bort och vattnar den? 16 Men denna kvinna, en Abrahams dotter som Satan har hållit bunden i arton år, borde hon inte få bli löst från sin boja på sabbaten?" 17 Vid de orden skämdes alla hans motståndare, men allt folket jublade över alla underbara gärningar som han utförde.
Senapskornet
18 Därefter sade han: "Vad är Guds rike likt? Vad skall jag jämföra det med? 19 Det är likt ett senapskorn, som en man tar och lägger i sin trädgård. Det växer upp och blir ett träd, och himlens fåglar bygger bo bland grenarna."
Surdegen
20 Vidare sade han: "Vad skall jag likna Guds rike vid? 21 Det är likt en surdeg, som en kvinna tar och blandar in i tre mått vetemjöl, tills alltsammans blir syrat."
Den smala vägen
22 På sin väg till Jerusalem gick Jesus genom städer och byar och undervisade. 23 Någon frågade honom: "Herre, är det bara få som blir frälsta?" Han sade till dem: 24 "Kämpa för att komma in genom den trånga porten. Ty många, säger jag er, skall försöka komma in men inte kunna det. 25 När husets Herre har stigit upp och stängt porten och ni står utanför och bultar och säger: Herre, öppna för oss, då skall han svara er: Jag vet inte varifrån ni är. 26 Då skall ni säga: Vi åt och drack när du var med, och du undervisade på våra gator. 27 Men han skall svara er: Jag vet inte varifrån ni är. Gå bort ifrån mig, alla ni som bedriver orättfärdighet. 28 Där skall ni gråta och skära tänder, när ni ser Abraham, Isak och Jakob och alla profeterna vara i Guds rike medan ni själva är utdrivna. 29 Och människor skall komma från öster och väster, norr och söder och ligga till bords i Guds rike. 30 Och se, det finns de som är sist som skall bli först, och de som är först som skall bli sist."
Jesu klagan över Jerusalem
31 Just då kom några fariseer fram och sade till honom: "Gå härifrån och lämna den här platsen. Herodes vill döda dig." 32 Jesus svarade dem: "Gå och säg till den räven: Se, jag driver ut onda andar och botar sjuka i dag och i morgon, och den tredje dagen går jag bort. 33 Men i dag och i morgon och i övermorgon måste jag vandra vidare. Ty en profet kan inte dödas någon annanstans än i Jerusalem.
34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, du som dödar profeterna och stenar dem som är sända till dig! Hur ofta hade jag inte velat samla dina barn så som hönan samlar sina kycklingar under vingarna, men ni ville inte. 35 Se, ert hus lämnas nu åt er själva. Jag säger er: Ni kommer att se mig först när ni säger: Välsignad är han som kommer i Herrens namn."

Repent or Perish
13 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate(A) had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?(B) 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam(C) fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent,(D) you too will all perish.”
6 Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.(E) 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down!(F) Why should it use up the soil?’
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman on the Sabbath
10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,(G) 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years.(H) She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her,(I) and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath,(J) the synagogue leader(K) said to the people, “There are six days for work.(L) So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?(M) 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham,(N) whom Satan(O) has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated,(P) but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.
The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast(Q)(R)
18 Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God(S) like?(T) What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree,(U) and the birds perched in its branches.”(V)
20 Again he asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? 21 It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds[a] of flour until it worked all through the dough.”(W)
The Narrow Door
22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.(X) 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door,(Y) because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’(Z)
26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’(AA)
28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth,(AB) when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west(AC) and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”(AD)
Jesus’ Sorrow for Jerusalem(AE)(AF)
31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod(AG) wants to kill you.”
32 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’(AH) 33 In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet(AI) can die outside Jerusalem!
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,(AJ) and you were not willing. 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate.(AK) I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[b]”(AL)

15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
31 The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
