5 ‘If a person sins in ^(A)hearing the utterance of an oath, and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of the matter—if he does not tell it, he ^(B)bears ^[a]guilt.

Saul’s Rash Oath

²⁴ And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had ^(A)placed the people under oath, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

²⁶ And when the people had come into the woods, there was the honey, dripping; but no one put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath.

^67 (A)“If You are the Christ, tell us.”

But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will ^(B)by no means believe. ⁶⁸ And if I ^[a]also ask you, you will by no means answer ^[b]Me or let Me go. ^69 (C)Hereafter the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power of God.”

⁷⁰ Then they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?”

So He said to them, ^(D)“You rightly say that I am.”

^71 (E)And they said, “What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.”
