^3 (A)if the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer to the Lord for his sin which he has sinned ^(B)a young bull without blemish as a ^(C)sin offering.

¹⁴ And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house ^(A)shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”

³ Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for ^(A)himself, to offer sacrifices for sins. ⁴ And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as ^(B)Aaron was.

A Priest Forever

^5 (C)So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:

²⁷ who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His ^(A)own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
